Oh, the suspense

I should know the fate of the currently submitted short story tonight or tomorrow -- the anthology editor has been posting progress reports at intervals this afternoon. I appear to have survived the first round of rejections, but we've now been told that "four authors won't hear from me until tomorrow. I'm still pondering."

So of course I'm checking my email every thirty seconds.

And I may not have fingernails left by bedtime.

And I have a book-group meeting to go to tonight....
